My snap-judgement?
Mike has zero-coolness where subtlety is needed.
I mean, seriously, Dude — only ONE breath after agreeing that he should NOT talk to Bushrat…
…Mike talks to Bushrat.
& just to add insult-to-injury, Lenore has to chime-in, playing the “Mom”-card, to give the ‘knife’ yet-another twist.
Because this is just what Lenore does, & not even her own family gets a “pass”.
I swear, it’s like Louis deliberately gave Mike a “cue”, for what to say next!
I could easily picture Louis_&_Mike as the next “Abbot & Costello”, with Bushrat as their “Target of Abuse”.
UHM,…
…what was I thinking?
I could’ve SWORN that there was a 2nd “NOT” in Lewis’ Panel_4 word-balloon…?
…as in: “Though, you might NOT want to talk to B-man.”
=====
Even so, I’m pretty-sure that Lewis intended for Mike to go for something more like:
“Hey, man, thanks again for pullin’ my fat outta th’fire back there. I seriously owe you one.”
…& instead, Mike just “Stirs-Up the Stew” even worse.
